Modern design for a foundation with rich tradition
The new website of the SEW EURODRIVE Foundation provides information about its purpose, historical background, and philosophy in a clear, informative, and contemporary style. The Foundation, founded in 1989, sees itself as a broker between the aspects of free research, economic effectiveness, and social and ecological responsibility, and puts this into action by presenting various awards: Study Awards and grants for both students and visiting professors, and also the Ernst Blickle Award that honors outstanding personalities and achievements, as well as initiative, innovative power, and true scientific spirit. The new website also contains important information on the selection and decision-making process for the awards, because independent applications for the awards are not considered – instead, the Foundation’s Board of Directors evaluates the nominated work.
Performance is worthy of respect
The Ernst Blickle Award is still of particular significance. Endowed with prize money of EUR 100,000, it is one of the most renowned awards of its kind in the world, and honors outstanding results in science and industry. True to the Foundation’s motto “Performance is worthy of respect”, it is awarded every two years to persons who contribute to the progress and the well-being of society through their scientific achievements and entrepreneurial commitment.
